In respect of education, Terri Schmitt (2009), implied the use of blogging encourages students journaling; not only by reinforcing appropriate grammar skills and increasing their ability to learn how to condense information into clear and concise communication, but also blogging serves as a self-reflection tool. Students who utilize blog posts can analyze their fellow students' as well as their own work, which will not only will encourage retention of learning material; more successfully, but also prepare students to apply their knowledge learned for practice in the real world. Schmitt (2009) provided several other links in her article, which attribute to how effective blogging is in both the teaching and learning spectrum.
